sweet morning - forgetting and remembering
Some finds: an old plant book from flea market (oh, I like so much those thin and clumsy letters on the first page of the book) and an old heart pancake pan from my own cupboard, and an elm.
I had simply forgot that I have this kind of pancake pan. In the morning I was tempted by the thought of american style pancakes. Then I was talking on the phone to my friend and complaining that I'd need a cute little pancake pan and at the very moment I realized I already might have one. A little rummaging in the cupboard enabled my pancake dream. What a nice "find" it was. Hearts... Pancakes... Yay!
And also the elm "found" I - yesterday I re-learned what the elm looks like. In other words I had forgot that too. Phew, it's uncountable amount of things in the world that you've learned once and then forgotten. Well, in fact it was Himalainen who mentioned the elm in her latest post. And I was overjoyed because I have the elm's sprigs on my bedroom wall but I actually didn't remember those are elm's sprigs. I've been wondering many times what are these but because never earlier I haven't have elms in my environment (and to be true, I'm not that good with plant species). But now here in my new neighbourhood it's very much elms, and I like those so much! I didn't even remember the whole tree while I was trying to remember tree species. I just loved its cores and couldn't help picking up two sprigs in the spring when the elms were blooming. But now I'm familiar with the elm and learning more from my vintage plant book. Good.
I'm humming along with Beirut right now. It's good good good, very very good. I admire Zachary Condon. Please enjoy this too. I love Alma Har'el's music videos. Well, look at this too. What do you think? Aren't those great!?
